SUMMARY:

Classic arcade action for a new generation, Pythentene is Super-Python-Enhanced Serpentine 2011! Battle for survival across 25 levels like we did in the early 80's. You'll pick up the gameplay quickly -- expect to have a hard time putting it down!

This is a remake of the game Serpentine published on the Apple ][ by Broderbund in 1982.

DESCRIPTION:

Far in the future, large serpents rule the globe. The serpent kingdom is divided, naturally enough, into good and evil. The good snakes are blue and the evil serpents are a sickly orange. You have managed to tame a few of the blue snakes and now, astride your reptilian mount, you set out to rid the world of evil.

Very well done remake! I enjoyed playing Serpentine on my Apple ][+ and this is a bang-on recreation. The only thing that tripped me up was that when I started, I thought I was controlling the orange snake instead of the blue, which was confusing. But once past that, the old strategies came back... eating frogs to grow longer, eating longer snakes from behind, eating shorter snakes head on... For anyone who isn't familiar with this gem, this game is NOT the snake game that appeared on early cell phones.
