Description

This is a simple 2D library for PyGame and PyOpenGL. It currently supports

Image drawing and manipulation
Fonts
Graphics Primitives
A rect class which supports floating point numbers
A simple geometry module with line and circle collisions

It also features a documentation in .txt format. See examples/test.py to see it in action.

test.py=380 fps; speed_test.py=32.5 fps on a crappy dual-core laptop. This could be a whole lot of fun, Pymike. Keeping going! :)

PyGL2D is now on googlecode! http://code.google.com/p/pygl2d/ You can check out the latest version from SVN with the command: svn checkout http://pygl2d.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ pygl2d-read-only You can also download the latest stable release on the main page or in the downloads section.

Xandar: Thank-you for the, erm, speedtest. In the next release I'll include a real speedtest to see what it can really do. I'll look into adding it to pypi; sounds like a good idea :) I'll set it up on googlecode ASAP. Thanks for the feedback!

In your main() function, you asked for speedtest feedback. I get 1000 fps with about 80% utilization of one of my cores on a 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo. I don't know what kind of scope you intended with this, but did you think of adding this library into the python package index? (http://pypi.python.org/pypi) It would then be easy to upgrade as newer versions mature.

lol Ian :) There's a memory leakage problem with fonts, so please don't use them until I fix them.
